Free Affirmations App With a One Time Pro Option
The whole affirmation library is in the free version, and the paid version can be bought once instead of rented forever.
What the free version actually includes
Not a trial, not a teaser. This is what you have on day one and on day four hundred.
- All 1,054 affirmations. Nothing in the library is held back.
- All 17 categories, from Self-Love and Confidence to Sleep & Rest, Gratitude, Focus & Productivity, Letting Go and Resilience & Courage.
- All 12 languages.
- One daily reminder, in a window you choose, that keeps arriving.
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, all four placements.
- Favorites, the streak with its one day grace, and share as an image.
- A preview of the custom affirmations editor.
What Selune Pro adds
- Five more themes: Sunrise, Sea Glass, Ink & Gold, Rose Quartz and Midnight Aurora. Lavender Dusk is the free one.
- Up to ten reminders a day instead of one.
- Writing and saving your own affirmations into the same rotation.
- No ads.
| Plan | Price | Renews |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $3.99 per month | Yes, monthly, cancel in iPhone Settings |
| Yearly | $24.99 per year, after a 3 day free trial | Yes, yearly, cancel in iPhone Settings |
| Lifetime | $49.99 once | No. It never renews and there is nothing to cancel |
The yearly plan is the only one with a free trial. Payment goes to your Apple Account, and a subscription renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
The ads, described exactly
A free tier paid for by advertising is a trade, and it is fairer to describe the trade than to call it honest and move on. In the free version of Selune:
- A small banner sits at the bottom of the feed, under the tab bar.
- A full screen ad can appear after you share an affirmation, and only then. It never interrupts you mid swipe.
- That full screen ad is switched off entirely during your first session, and afterwards it can appear at most once every three minutes.
- Before ads start, the app runs the consent flow: a privacy consent form where your region requires one, and the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. Saying no is a real option.
Selune Pro removes the banner and the full screen ad the moment the purchase goes through.
Two things worth checking in any affirmation app
Whatever you end up installing, these two answers tell you most of what the free tier is worth:
- Is the library complete, or is most of it behind the paywall? An app can advertise thousands of affirmations and show you eighty.
- Are the reminders limited to a trial period? A reminder that stops after seven days is a countdown, not a feature.
In Selune, the library is complete in the free version and the daily reminder has no end date.
Pricing questions
Is there an affirmations app without a subscription?
Selune can be used without one. The free version includes the complete library of 1,054 affirmations, all 17 categories, all 12 languages, one daily reminder, the Home and Lock Screen widgets, favorites, the streak and sharing. If you want the extras, Selune Pro is also sold as a single lifetime purchase of $49.99 that never renews, so a subscription is optional even for Pro.
What does Selune Pro cost?
$3.99 per month, $24.99 per year with a 3 day free trial, or $49.99 once for the lifetime purchase. Those are United States App Store prices and they differ by country. All three unlock the same thing.
How does Selune make money on the free version?
Advertising. A small banner sits under the feed, and from your second session onward a single full screen ad can appear after you share an affirmation, never more often than once every three minutes. The app runs a consent flow before any of it loads, including the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. Selune Pro removes both.
