Two categories, not one

Selune separates letting the day go from actually falling asleep, because they want different words.

Evening Wind-Down

  • The day is closing softly.
  • You did what you could, and that is whole.
  • Your shoulders can drop now.
  • Tomorrow is not your problem yet.

Sleep & Rest

  • You are allowed to stop.
  • Your breath is slowing on its own.
  • Loosen your jaw, your hands, your thoughts.
  • Sleep is not earned, only welcomed.

Sixty-two lines each, 124 together, all of them in the free version and all of them available in twelve languages.

An evening reminder that knows when to stop

Pick sleep as what you want to work on and Selune prefills one reminder in the hour after nine in the evening. That single nudge is the whole design: an app that pings you at eleven and again at one in the morning is working against the thing it claims to help with.

Reminders never fall outside the window you set, and never overnight unless you switch overnight on yourself. If you work nights, that switch is there. If you do not, the night stays quiet by default.

More on windows, spread and overnight

A screen you can look at in the dark

Selune's dark mode is a designed variant rather than an inverted light one, and the mesh gradient behind the words moves slowly enough that it does not pull at your attention. Midnight Aurora, the darkest of the six atmospheres, comes with Pro; the free Lavender Dusk theme has its own dark variant and works for the same purpose.

For the last thing you see, the inline Lock Screen widget is the quietest option: a single line above the clock, no gradient, no glow. How to add it.

Selune offers written affirmations and reminders. It is not medical care, not a diagnosis and not treatment, and it does not claim to change a medical condition. If something is weighing on you enough to affect your daily life, please talk to a doctor or a qualified therapist.
